Woodford County Middle School is located near Versailles, Kentucky. Four teachers (Ted Damron, Zoey Warthman, Melissa Henning, and Terri Pattie) are involved in the Kentucky ITEST program, in cooperation with the Tracy Farmer Center at the University of Kentucky. Students involved in the program are working with 3D software (such as EON and Alice), and GIS software. Several other students were selected to teach workshops at the middle school on these 3D and GIS programs. The Student Instructed Technology Education (SITE) program introduces students to the technology and encourages them to then instruct each other, creating a best possible learning experience. The student based instruction has been crucial to the usage of technology in the ITEST program as well as the diligent efforts of the teachers to enrich through creek studies and their own in-class time spent on ehancing student learning.
This website was set up to display the work we have been doing as part of the Kentucky ITEST as well as SITE programs. Students can register for an account below, and post updates on their experiences as part of this program. The goal of this site is to help both students and teachers more efficienty manage the use of technology in this program. Parents can also use this site to watch what’s happening at school.
